Beverly Hills, CA - With no light at the end of the tunnel yet visible for our troubled economy the year 2010 will most likely feature a very clear shift toward noninvasive procedures according to famed Beverly Hills Plastic Surgeon Payman Simoni, MD. Noninvasive procedures are lower cost, and the recovery time is much less compared to traditional surgical procedures like face lifts, tummy tucks and breast augmentation. “People will be concerned about taking too much time off of work in an economy that isn't synonymous with job security,” said Simoni.
The competitive job market will encourage some individuals to seek help from cosmetic enhancement to look more youthful and refreshed; therein lays the popularity of injectables like Botox. The cosmetic injections can smooth lines and wrinkles in a 30-minute treatment for just a few hundred dollars. “I received some media attention in 2009 for my Recession Face Lift and it’s possible that rejuvenating procedures such as this will show a surge with people who seek job security in looking younger,” said Simoni.
Many companies recently have invested in laser assisted liposuction, procedures that promise less invasive approach to traditional liposuction. “I believe that not even new laser assisted liposuction procedures will be able to bring liposuction back to the number one plastic surgery procedure spot that it once enjoyed,” said Simoni.
Simoni goes on to say that cosmetic procedures like laser hair removal that have less to do with beauty and more with comfort will show a dramatic downturn. Many will turn to razors and waxes to save money for other necessities. Other DIY cosmetic procedure may attract consumers.
Many business savvy companies will notice the demand of consumers who wish to look younger at cheaper cost and will come up with catchy “face lift in a bottle” ideas. Using cosmetic creams to look more refreshed is not a new idea, but false promises of face lift results from a simple cream may become more common in the year to come. “By the time people realize the old saying ‘If it is too good to be true, it usually is’ many of these companies will have made their fortune!” Simoni concluded.
